Light Knights at Royal Armouries - Part of Leeds Light Night 2019

We are well-known for our knights in shining armour but you’ve never seen anything like this before. Imagine 12-foot high illuminated armoured knights battling in the dark outside the national museum of arms and armour. Charge down to Leeds Dock this Light Night to witness a clash of giants. Chairobics & Aerobics with WiSE

If you would like to meet new people, stay active and have fun, come along to our Chairobics and Aerobics class every Friday at The Wetherby, Sandbeck Way, Wetherby from 10.30 – 11.15, or aerobics from 11.15am – 12.15pm £2 for each class, or £3 to do both classes. A Brief History of Leeds Antiquarians

Join Librarian Antony Ramm for an illustrated talk exploring the lives and works of Antiquarians and local historians in Leeds during the 17th, 18th and 19th-centuries. The talk is based entirely on books and manuscripts held in the collections at Leeds Central Library. Hilary Robinson - Children's Author

Wetherby Library - 10:30am-11:30pm

Hilary Robinson is the author of over 60 books for children including Mixed Up Fairy Tales and Where The Poppies Now Grow. She won the Historical Association’s Young Quills Award 2016 for Flo of the Somme – a book about the role of mercy dogs during World War 1. Tickets Free: Limited places available. Find out more here

The Chamber Orchestra of Leeds

St James' Church - 7:30pm-9:30pm

The Chamber Orchestra of Leeds has been newly formed by the conductor, Martin Binks MBE. It’s inaugural concert was held in October 2018 to wide critical acclaim. Martin, as conductor of the Leeds Symphony Orchestra has long been a favourite of Wetherby Festival visitors. The Chamber Orchestra will continue that tradition. Find out more here

Meet at Wetherby Town Hall - 1:45pm-3:30pm

From an award-winning building to a 13th century cross, this walk encompasses current and historic locations of worship. Places of worship also fulfil the roles of art gallery and museum, and are a source of culture and local history in the town. Michael Hare is your guide.
