Warning after scammers threaten to 'cease National Insurance & Assets'

Do you answer unknown numbers? We don't thankfully - today we left an unknown number to go to voicemail and listened to the automated message we received.

It claimed that unless we called a number to resolve an issue, our National Insurance number and assets will be ceased! This is a scam!

We have since reported this incident and blocked the number!

Should you receive something similar here's what you should do:

Do not telephone the number provided, or provide anyone with your personal details, including your bank or credit card information.

HMRC is aware of these automated phone call scams. To help their investigations you should report full details of the scam by email to: phishing@hmrc.gov.uk, including the:

  • date of the call

  • phone number used

  • content of the call.

Beware of scammers and stay safe everyone!
