21 unseen photos of Wetherby from the 1980s

These photos from The Yorkshire Evening Post turn back the clock to provide a snapshot of life in Wetherby at the end of the 1980s.


These photos were all taken in 1988 and feature local landmarks and street scenes. The images are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.



Images include Castle Gate, High Street, Horsefair, Church Street, Bank Street, North Street and Market Place. Oh how things have changed...
