Sticky sesame pork ribs

Ribs are an indulgent treat that most people enjoy once in a while, and there is no reason why you shouldn't prepare your own - Serve up in a big bowl and let people dive in.

INGREDIENTS

RIBS AND MARINADE

  • 12 pork ribs

  • 4 tbsp of sesame oil

  • 8 tbsp of soy sauce

  • 4 tbsp of honey

  • 2 tbsp of golden syrup

  • 3 tbsp of peanut butter

  • 1 orange for juice

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 2 tbsp of sweet chilli sauce

  • 75g of fresh ginger, peeled and finely grated

  • 1 tsp five-spice powder


TO COOK

  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp of sesame seeds

METHOD


In a large bowl, combine all of the marinade ingredients. Add the pork ribs and mix until coated in the marinade

  • 4 tbsp of sesame oil

  • 8 tbsp of soy sauce

  • 4 tbsp of honey

  • 2 tbsp of golden syrup

  • 3 tbsp of peanut butter

  • 1 orange for juice

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 2 tbsp of sweet chilli sauce

  • 75g of fresh ginger, peeled and finely grated

  • 1 tsp five-spice powder

  • 12 pork ribs


Cover the ribs and refrigerate for a minimum of 6 hours, or preferably overnight


Preheat the oven to 190°C/gas mark 5. Add vegetable oil to a large roasting tray and heat for 5 minutes. Remove the hot tray from the oven and add the ribs

  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil


Place back in the oven for 20 minutes, turning after 10 minutes. Cover in sesame seeds then bake for a further 3-4 minutes until golden

  • 2 tbsp of sesame seeds


Remove from the oven, allow to rest for 5 minutes then serve immediately
