Making Memories & Having Fun at WiSE

If you would like to meet new people, stay active and have fun, come along to our Chairobics and Aerobics class every Friday at Wetherby Social Club from 10.30 – 11.15, or aerobics from 11.15am – 12.15pm £2 for each class, or £3 to do both classes. With special thanks to our instructor Heather from Home Instead.

Line Dancing takes place every Thursday from 10.15am – 12.00pm at Wetherby Sports Association, (next to the Swimming Baths!) £3 incl refreshments. Everybody welcome.

The Elderberries Wed 18th September 1.30pm – 3.30pm, Wetherby Social Club £3 including refreshments. Come along and meet “Ping Pong Pete” the brains behind our new Ping Pong activity!

Knit One Purl Wise is on every Thursday from 1.30pm – 3.00pm in the Village Hall at Boston Spa. Informal knitting and crochet group where we work on our own projects with a cup of tea and a biscuit. Feel free to join us. £2 including refreshments.

Poetry is a very friendly informal group of people reciting poetry either their own or from other poets. Every other Thursday at Boston Spa Village Hall on Thursday 12th and 26th September from 2pm – 3pm. £2 including refreshments

Chatter and Batter is our fish and chip lunch club at Wetherby Social Club from 11.15am to 1pm on Tuesday 17th September. £5 including fish and chips, refreshments and a quiz!! Orders must be taken by 11.40am so be prompt and be hungry!


The Nightingales is an informal relaxed singing group that takes place at The Methodist Church, Bank Street, Wetherby. If you enjoy music and like singing along to songs from the 50’s,60’s, 70’s. Please come and join us. £3 incl refreshments on Tues 10th September at 10.30am

Our very popular singing session, The Rockin’ Robins, is on Wednesday 11th September and Tuesday 24th September at 1.30pm – 3pm. If you enjoy singing along to some great songs from the past, please come and join us at Boston Spa Village Hall. £3 inc refreshments.


Look out!! What’s coming up?!! Keep your eyes open for our new Ping Pong group, a great exercise class to improve coordination, balance, guaranteed to keep you smiling!! It starts on Wednesday 25th September at 2pm – 4pm. At St James Church, Church Street, Wetherby, LS22 6LP

Library at Home Service


Leeds libraries provide a free home delivery service to: people living in the Leeds City Council area (who pay their council tax to Leeds) who are unable to use a branch or mobile library, either temporarily or on a permanent basis carers whose caring responsibility prevents them from using the library have no family/friends/carers who are able to go to the library on their behalf, on a regular basis.


Library At Home Service customers have access to the same range of materials and services as users of branch and mobile libraries, and you can reserve items from any Leeds Library free of charge. When you apply for the service, they will visit you to talk about your needs and find out what you like to read and listen to. If you are eligible they can then choose books, talking books and other items for you according to your profile. Your books will be delivered every three weeks, either by one of their experienced Library At Home staff, or by one of their specially trained volunteers. They will do Their best to arrange your visit at a time that suits you.

Don’t let a thief catch you out! Always remember ...

  • Keep doors and windows locked at all times – even when you are inside.

  • Don’t forget to lock the door behind you and remove the key from the lock.

  • Keep keys, cash and valuables out of sight and in a safe place.

The Wise Meet-up Monday ‘Memory Café’

Over the Rainbow Care is hosting the Wetherby ‘Meet-up Mondays’ cafe every Monday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.


The cafe is there to offer a meeting point for carers and people experiencing memory loss where community and relevant support can be found.


This very specific cafe can cater for up to 20 people who qualify for this level of support. CONNECT WELL


Are you feeling, stressed, lonely, anxious, or just want to be more active and/or meet new people?


Maybe you need advice on issues such as finances or housing?


If yes, Connect Well is the right service for you.


Connect Well is a social prescribing service working in partnership with primary care. Their aim is to connect people to services and activities in their community in order to benefit overall health and wellbeing.


Connect Well Wellbeing Coordinators are based within GP practices and provide 1-2-1 support over the phone and face to face. If appropriate they provide community visits.


How to access the service?

You can refer yourself to the service or you can be referred by a GP/other professional.
