The Great Yorkshire Show - travel information
From Tuesday 9th July to Thursday 11th July 2019
The Great Yorkshire Show is an iconic three-day event and one of the biggest agricultural events in the English calendar. Every year, more than 130,000 visitors and over 8,500 animals converge on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate to compete, socialise and celebrate.
This will be the 161st Great Yorkshire Show, showcasing the best of British farming, food and the countryside as well as first class entertainment.
The Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, is easily accessible from all parts of the country by road, rail or air.
Please follow the signed routes to the Show on your approach to Harrogate and do not rely on satellite navigation systems as these may direct you onto a route with limited access or temporary restrictions.
Additional points to note:
The A661 (Wetherby Road) is inbound, from the Kestrel roundabout to the Showground from 6am-2pm & outbound from 2pm-9pm during Show days. The A658 is also one way, inbound, from the junction of the B6163 down to the Kestrel roundabout from 7am-2pm.
Visitors travelling to the Show from the south along the A1(M) northbound carriageway should exit at junction 46 (Wetherby) and follow the GYS direction signs. There will be no access from A1 on Show days to the A59 junction 47 (Allerton Park) after 6am. These restrictions will be in place until late morning. The restrictions are new for 2019 and have been introduced to improve traffic flows along A59 and A658 towards Harrogate from York and A1 North.
