Frances Liddle Eyecare considers the eye exam the most important stage so allow 40 minutes for each test. Initially, there is a pre-test that checks the eye pressure, corneal curvature and thickness.

The optician then asks a variety of questions. This will ascertain any visual problems, your general and ocular health, medication and family history.

This is crucial in order to establish the tests needed. Next, the vision and spectacle prescription is checked. The health of the eyes will then be assessed using a variety of techniques. They may also do a visual field test which looks at the peripheral function of the eyes and also retinal photography.

After the eye test, the optician will have a full discussion of the results.

They do all NHS and private, children and VDU eye examinations.
