Wetherby is delighted to announce the date of their annual Christmas Lights Switch On and Market event for this is year. Save the date: 24th November 2016, all the fun starts at 6pm.
Held around the Town Hall, we have lots of entertainment, fun for all the family and a full market which will be taking part in the evening’s events. You won’t be able to miss the fairground rides, hot food and in true ‘Switch On’ tradition we have the outstanding City of Leeds Pipe Band closing festivities.
The important job of the evening, switching on the lights, will this year be at the fingertips of Christine Talbot and Kadeena Cox.
We are pleased to welcome back Christine, who is not only a familiar and loved face from ITV News Caldendar but lives in our community too. Christine will be joined by Kadeena who started her love of sport at Wetherby High School and became the first Paralympian to win medals in two different sports since 1984.
We are sure you will agree that Wetherby looks fabulous at this time of year. Thank you to the many volunteers, from organising an evening of fun & entertainment, to the men who selflessly give up their time to put up decorations and trim and dress trees. Absolute proof that Wetherby has fantastic community spirit.
We must also say a huge thank you to all the businesses who support us and sponsor us with plaques, raffle prizes, or whatever way they can. These businesses are the heart of our community and help to make Wetherby a wonderful place to live and visit.
Follow our twitter @wethxmaslights and facebook ‘Wetherby Xmas Lights’ for more information on the evening.
