Essential gas mains replacement works that are due to take place in and around North Street, Wetherby. This major project is part of Northern Gas Networks’ ongoing replacement of the infrastructure in the region and will involve replacing 41m of existing metal gas mains with more durable plastic pipes to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply to gas to customers in the area for years to come.
The works, which are due to start week commencing Monday 15 August and take approximately 2 weeks to complete, have been planned in very carefully with Leeds City Council and the highways authorities to ensure that they are completed to create as little disruption as possible. In order to complete the works as safely and efficiently as possible, it is necessary to have a road closure in place on North Street from the Junction of Horsefair to outside of property 5 of North Street. This will be in situ from 16 August – 26 August. A diversion route will be signed and displayed for all motorists. Due to engineering works, parking bays outside of properties 2-8 North Street will be to be temporarily suspended for the duration of the works. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Engineers will be working Monday to Sunday 8am – 5pm.
