Wetherby’s The Swan & Talbot, part of the award-winning Ainsty Inns chain and official sponsor of this year’s 10th annual Wetherby 10k, has launched a special edition race-day ale. The beer has been formed through the partnership between Ainsty Inns and local supplier, Rudgate Brewery. The ale, titled ‘Final Leg’, is described as ‘balanced hoppy bitterness with a crisp fruity finish’ and will be sold for £3.30 a pint over the weekend of the community’s favourite running event. Owner of Ainsty Inns, Antony Pratt said: “As we are the official sponsor for this year’s Wetherby 10k, we felt we should go that extra mile and do something special to promote the event. “As it is the 10th anniversary of the inaugural race, we have collaborated with Rudgate Brewery who have kindly supplied us with two barrels of the special-edition brew. “The 10k is a fantastic local event and we’re delighted to be able to partner local businesses and support the community through bespoke product launches such as this.” Customers will have to be quick off the mark to sample the ale as the limited supply of 144 pints will only be sold from the Saturday before the big race-day. The ale offering is the latest in The Swan & Talbot’s race-day plans with a special runners’ race-day brunch and post-race refuelling lunch being put on for race participants and their supporters. Runners in this year’s 10k will also receive a goody-bag containing discounted meal vouchers for The Swan & Talbot. The 10th annual race will be attended by thousands of runners and takes place on Sunday 6th September at Wetherby Racecourse.
